Progress photos, done right.

Thirty seconds a month, and you will never argue with your own memory again. Here is exactly how I want you to take them, and why the boring version is the one that works.

Side · arms forward
Back · same stance

The setup

Light

Face a window, in daylight. Never under a bathroom light, which carves shadows that lie in both directions. Same room, same time, every month.

Camera

The back camera, not a mirror selfie. Prop the phone at chest height, a stack of books is perfect, stand about six feet back, and use the timer. Put a bit of tape on the floor where your feet go.

Poses

Front, side, back. Stand relaxed, arms easy. Do not flex and do not suck in: the honest photo is the one that matches last month's. For the side shot, arms straight out in front so they do not hide your torso.

Wear

Fitted clothing at whatever coverage you are comfortable with, and the same outfit every time. Consistency is what the comparison cares about, not skin.

When

Morning, before breakfast, after the bathroom. Once a month is the rhythm; the app will nudge you on the right week so you never have to remember.

The point

These photos measure change, not worth. Some months nothing moves, and that is information too, not failure. Skip any month you like. They are private to you and me, and deleting them is always one tap.

Your photos are private to you and me. Nobody else sees them, they are never used for marketing, and you can delete any of them, or all of them, at any time. How we handle them.
